Home Care At Its Finest

National Home Care Month: How To Celebrate Your Caregiver

November 13, 2020

“There are four types of people in the world: Those who have been caregivers. Those who are currently caregivers. Those who will be caregivers, and those who will need a caregiver.”

– Rosalyn Carter

Collier Home Care provides Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Home Health Aides (HHAs) that create a safe environment for you to stay independent in your home. While these caregivers do a wonderful job, sometimes it can be difficult to remember to show our appreciation for these dedicated individuals. November marks National Home Care Month, and it is a perfect opportunity to show our caregivers how much we appreciate their time and hard work.

Sign A Thank You Card

Show your gratitude by picking out a thoughtful thank you card that expresses your feelings. And just like how your caregiver goes the extra mile for you, you may want to do so for them by writing a personalized note in your card.

Bake Cookies

A sweet treat can’t be beat! Picking up a packaged box of cookie mix is simple and adding the ingredients and popping them in the oven with the help of your caregiver is even easier! We guarantee that your caregiver will be smiling for the rest of the day.

Say Thank You

You may not believe it but verbalizing a simple thank you can be enough to make your caregiver’s day. The tasks they perform really are “all in a day’s work” to them. However, it is nice to hear how they have impacted others and is a good reminder as to why they chose this career in the first place.

Bring Them Flowers

A bouquet of flowers may not cost much from your local grocery store, but they are guaranteed to make your caregiver’s day! You can even pick out a simple vase to place these flowers in to make a lovely arrangement that your caregiver can take home to continue to enjoy for the rest of the week.

Collier Home Care is a local, family-owned company, and we strive to bring that energy into our relationships with both our clients and our caregivers. Our caregivers go above and beyond to assist our clients. Here are some ways they do that:

  • Help with standby or hands-on assistance with the activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, toileting, walking/mobility, transferring, feeding, grooming, and continence.
  • Grocery shopping and meal preparation
  • Errands
  • Driving
  • Medication reminding or assistance with self-administration of medication
  • Light housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Monitor vitals

Should you feel you need any assistance from a home health care provider, please call our main office line at (239) 920-3902 or visit us online at www.collierhomecare.com. We are more than happy to discuss your current needs with you and help you determine what level of care you need.
